Ph.D. Students

Simone Albano

Born in Rome in 1987, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (General Chemistry course) with 105/110 in 2012 and his master’s degree in Chemistry (Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry course) cum laude in 2015 at Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”. He is now a third-year Ph.D. student in Chemical sciences and carries out his studies in the field of supramolecular and dynamic combinatorial chemistry under the supervision of dr. Stefano Di Stefano. Actually, he is a visiting student in the laboratories of Prof. Sijbren Otto at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.

 

Chiara Biagini

Born in Roma in 1992, she graduated in Classical Studies from Liceo Ginnasio Mariano Buratti (Viterbo). After moving to Rome, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry in 2013 (July 2014, 110/110 cum laude) and her Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry course (July 2016, 110/110 cum laude) at Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”. She is currently in her second year of PhD in Chemical Sciences and carries out her research under the supervision of Dr. Stefano Di Stefano. Currently, stimuli responsive supramolecular systems and chemical fuels are the main subjects of her research. After the partecipation to Roche Continents Programme 2016, she joined the Roche Alumni network.

 

 

Giorgio Capocasa

Giorgio Capocasa was born in Rome on March 29th, 1993. He graduated from Liceo Statale Evangelista
Torricelli of Rome (High School with a scientific curriculum) obtaining his diploma with a final
score of 100/100.
In July 2015, he earned a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Università di Roma “La Sapienza” with a
final score of 110/110 e Lode (full marks, with merit).
He enrolled again at “La Sapienza” and obtained a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry (Indirizzo
Organico-Biotecnologico) with a final score of 110/110 e Lode (full marks, with merit) in July 2017.
Internship periods during both degrees were spent under the supervision of Dr. Stefano Di Stefano.
In 2017 Giorgio took part in the Roche Continents program as one of 100 selected students in Europe for a week of workshops in Salzburg (Austria).
He is currently in his first year as a PhD Student under Dr. Stefano Di Stefano’s supervision.
